Lucuma is a fruit from the Andean Valleys of Peru. Known as the “Gold of the Incas”, this ancient fruit represented fertility in pre-Inca ceramics. Its sweet pulp has a mealy and velvety texture paired with a sweet fragrance and surprisingly pleasant flavor, similar to maple syrup, butterscotch or caramel.
A Superfood for its nutritional properties, it is rich in antioxidants, fiber, minerals, and vitamins. Lucuma is the most popular Gelato flavor in Peru.
